Works by José de Nebra and Antonio Literes
Erika Escribá, soprano
La Dispersione
Joan B. Boïls, conductor
The Valencian group La Dispersione closes the third edition of Les Arts is Baroque with a concert focused on José de Nebra, along with some of his predecessors representative of the Baroque, such as Cristóbal Galán and José Pradas from Valencia or Antonio Literes from Majorca. In fact, Nebra and Literes were two of the most important Spanish composers who worked for the Royal Chapel between the end of the 17th Century and the first half of the 18th Century. Both contributed to creating a new archive of musical works for the institution after the fire that ravaged the archive in 1734. The soprano Erika Escribá, accompanied by La Dispersione, under conductor Joan B. Boïls, interprets arias of the most representative titles that these authors wrote for the stage, such as Vendado es amor, no es ciego, and Acis y Galatea.
