THE LEGEND THAT WILL CONQUER MADRID BEGINS
John Cameron's musical is set in Spain and Los Angeles between 1805 and 1815. All the characters originate from Johnston McCulley's 1919 novel and Isabel Allende's 2005 novel.
An exciting theatrical adventure that brings the legendary masked hero Zorro to the stage through an inspiring musical production featuring spectacular staging and impressive choreography.
The story revolves around Don Diego, the son of a Spanish nobleman, who is sent from colonised California to a military academy in Barcelona. During his time in Spain, he encounters a gypsy troupe, with whom he discovers a world of freedom, art and justice, eventually becoming their leader.
Upon returning to the West Coast, now subjugated and enslaved in the early 19th century, Don Diego is confronted with a reality marked by oppression and abuse of power. It is then that the legend is born: behind Zorro's black mask, he becomes the defender of the oppressed and a symbol of resistance.
Zorro fights for justice and the freedom of the people, confronting the tyrannical regime imposed by Ramón, governor of the territory and his former childhood friend. Amid broken loyalties, conflicting ideals and spectacular duels, Don Diego must choose between his past and his destiny, becoming the hero who will change the course of history.
